Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on a two-day tour, making significant strides in West Bengal and Bihar by inaugurating, dedicating, and laying the foundation stone for diverse development projects worth crores. His itinerary encompassed a multitude of sectors, ranging from power and rail to road infrastructure.

In Krishnanagar, West Bengal, PM Modi kickstarted the day by unveiling projects totaling Rs 15,000 crore. The endeavors included the foundation stone laying for the Raghunathpur Thermal Power Station Phase II, inauguration of the Flue gas desulfurization system at Mejia Thermal Power Station, and the commencement of a vital road project on the Farakka-Raiganj Section of NH-12.
Major Projects in West Bengal:Revolutionizing Bihar’s Infrastructure Landscape
In the afternoon, the Prime Minister shifted his focus to Bihar, where he announced projects amounting to Rs 21,400 crore. Notable highlights included the inauguration and foundation stone laying of National Highway projects, construction of a six-lane bridge across River Ganga, and the initiation of twelve projects under Namami Gange to enhance sewage treatment facilities.

PM Modi unveiled plans for Unity Mall in Patna, emphasizing its role as a modern facility promoting local manufacturing. With dedicated spaces for states, union territories, and districts, the mall aims to showcase unique products, fostering the ‘One District One Product’ initiative. This initiative aligns with the vision to elevate Bihar and India’s handicraft products on a global scale.

The Prime Minister culminated his tour in Begusarai, Bihar, where he catalyzed the energy sector with projects valued at about Rs 1.48 lakh crore. Key announcements included the dedication of ‘First Oil’ from KG Basin, marking a historic achievement in India’s energy sector, and the inauguration of projects to enhance oil and gas infrastructure. PM Modi’s initiatives promise to reduce the nation’s dependence on energy imports significantly.
In a comprehensive move, the Prime Minister also addressed vital aspects such as agriculture, livestock, and digital initiatives.
