SC to Hear PIL on Sandeshkhali Violence
The Supreme Court is set to hear a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) on Monday, seeking a court-monitored CBI or SIT probe into the recent violence in West Bengal’s Sandeshkhali village.
Plea Highlights Compensation and Action Against Officials
The PIL, filed by advocate Alakh Alok Srivastava, also demands compensation for the victims of the Sandeshkhali violence and action against West Bengal Police officials for alleged dereliction of duty.
Request for Probe Transfer and Three-Judge Committee Inquiry
The petitioner urges the transfer of the probe and subsequent trial outside West Bengal and calls for an inquiry by a three-judge committee, similar to the one in the Manipur violence case.
