JK Sambhaav Utsav-2024: A Celebration of Jammu Kashmir’s Cultural Resurgence
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurated the ‘JK Sambhaav Utsav-2024’ at JK House, New Delhi, on Tuesday. This seven-day vibrant exhibition organized by the Resident Commission of Jammu Kashmir showcases the rich cultural, artistic heritage, cuisine, agriculture, and handicraft products of the Union Territory.
Spotlight on the Future: JK’s Contribution to Viksit Bharat
In his address, Lt. Governor Sinha emphasized the significance of ‘Sambhaav Utsav’ in highlighting the future trajectory of Jammu Kashmir. He expressed that the event serves as a platform to revive ancient heritage and preserve it for future generations, contributing to the development of a resurgent Jammu Kashmir ready to play a vital role in Viksit Bharat.
Hello JK Initiative: Bridging Gaps and Fostering Opportunities
The Lt. Governor launched the ‘Hello JK’ initiative, an information-cum-facilitation hub that aims to connect the youth of Jammu Kashmir with experts in various fields. This platform, both online and offline, will facilitate a rich exchange of knowledge, insights, and opportunities in education, entrepreneurship, livelihood, health, wellness, tour and travel guidance, safety, and security.
Jammu Kashmir’s Transformative Journey: A Model of Development
During the inaugural ceremony, Lt. Governor Sinha shared the transformative journey of Jammu Kashmir under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Union Territory has witnessed significant development, with a focus on urban transformation, innovation, start-ups, agriculture, industrial development, and tourism.
Lt. Governor Sinha highlighted that Jammu Kashmir is now perceived as a tourism hotspot rather than a hotspot of terrorism. Last year witnessed a record 2.11 crore tourists visiting the region, showcasing its appeal as a sought-after destination. The Lt. Governor also emphasized key initiatives, including the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme, GI tagging for niche products, better market linkage, and the promotion of local products.
Additionally, the Department of Information & Public Relations JK launched the ‘Naya Jammu Kashmir Short Film Making’ competition, inviting filmmakers and citizens of J&K to submit short films highlighting the development in the region over the last four years. The winners will have the opportunity to interact with leading filmmakers in Mumbai, with the contest open until February 28, 2024.
