Uttarakhand High Court witnessed a historic moment as Justice Ritu Bahri took the oath of office, becoming the first woman Chief Justice of the state.

Governor Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh (Retd) administered the oath at the Raj Bhavan.

Prior to this appointment, Justice Bahri served as a judge in the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

The position became vacant after the retirement of Justice Vipin Sanghi in October of the previous year, with Justice Manoj Tiwari serving as the acting Chief Justice.
