Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi Sentenced to seven Years in Illegal Marriage case
Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi received a 14-year jail sentence, marking the second sentence for the former Pakistani prime minister.
The conviction is related to illegal gains from state gifts, just a week before a general election where he is disqualified from participating.
Now, Khan and his wife has been sentenced to seven seven years prison and a fine of 5, 5 Lakh PKR has been fined.
The verdict was announced by Senior Civil Judge Qudratullah Niazi, who heard the case at the Adiala jail during the past weeks, as he also slapped Rs0.5 million fine each to the convicts.
Khan, ousted as PM in 2022, is currently serving a three-year jail term for corruption, maintaining that the cases against him are politically motivated.
