Jk National Highway Closed for Second Day; Restoration Efforts Underway
The Jammu and Kashmir National Highway is set to remain inaccessible to traffic for the second consecutive day on Friday. An official has announced the prohibition of vehicular movement on the Jammu-Srinagar NHW due to road damage at Kishtwari Pather, Sherbibi, and incidents of shooting stones/mudslides at various points along NH-44.
Reports indicate that approximately 700 vehicles are stranded in Ramban, Banihal, Nashri, Chenani, Kud, and Udhampur areas of the highway. Officials have initiated restoration work, and concerted efforts are underway to expedite the process of reopening the highway for traffic at the earliest possible time.
