The Tippecanoe County Coroner has confirmed the tragic death of Neel Acharya, an Indian student studying at Purdue University. Authorities were alerted to a possible dead body on Purdue’s campus, and upon arrival, they discovered the deceased student. Neel Acharya was reported missing, and his mother had appealed for information on social media. The Consulate General of India in Chicago stated that they were in touch with Purdue University authorities and Neel’s family, offering support.

Appeal for Information on Missing Student

On Sunday, Gaury Acharya, Neel’s mother, had posted on social media seeking information about her missing son. Neel Acharya was last seen by an Uber driver who dropped him off at Purdue University. The authorities, along with the Consulate, were actively involved in addressing the situation.

The tragic incident follows the recent brutal killing of another Indian student in Georgia, highlighting concerns for the safety and security of international students studying in the United States.
