NIA Raids 31 Locations in Rajasthan and Haryana in Connection with Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi’s Murder
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted raids at 31 sites in Rajasthan and Haryana in relation to the recent murder of Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena chief, Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi. Gogamedi was fatally shot by three assailants at his residence on December 5, 2023, leading to widespread protests in Rajasthan.
Notably, gangster Rohit Godara, affiliated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, claimed responsibility for the murder through a social media post, citing Gogamedi’s alleged support for his adversaries.
Following the incident, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) directed the NIA to assume control of the investigation to explore potential wider conspiracies behind the killing.
The NIA, having already questioned several suspects after initiating a case, conducted Wednesday’s searches based on information gleaned during interrogations. These searches represent a part of the ongoing investigation, according to an anonymous official.
Jaipur Police had previously apprehended two shooters associated with Gogamedi’s assassination in Chandigarh just five days after the event. Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, held in custody since 2015, has continued to operate his criminal syndicate from various jails across states.
Moreover, the NIA has been actively investigating the operations of the Bishnoi gang both domestically and internationally, probing potential connections with pro-Khalistan elements and examining their activities in different parts of the country.
