The Chief of Air Staff (CAS) of the Indian Air Force, Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari, undertook a visit to two frontline operational bases in the western sector, as announced in a statement by the IAF. During these visits, the IAF chief was briefed extensively on the operational preparedness and readiness of these bases.

In his interactions with the air warriors, Air Chief Marshal Chaudhari praised their professionalism and urged them to sustain their vigilance in safeguarding the nation’s airspace, emphasizing the critical importance of their role.

Earlier this month, on December 22, addressing the 20th Subroto Mukerjee Seminar at the Manekshaw Centre in New Delhi, the Air Chief highlighted India’s proactive role in advocating for the concerns of nations in the Global South. He emphasized the significance of air power and stressed the IAF’s role as a catalyst for progress, fostering strategic partnerships, and contributing to the collective advancement of countries in the Global South.

The Air Chief emphasized the increased engagements of the IAF in regular training exercises with partner nations, facilitating the exchange of operational and maintenance best practices. He also highlighted the role played by Indian Military Advisory Teams and courses offered through the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation program, benefitting over 200,000 officials in both civil and defense sectors.

Moreover, Air Chief Marshal Chaudhari mentioned that over the past nine years, the IAF has trained more than 5000 foreign trainees from Global South countries. He highlighted indigenous aerospace platforms like LCA, LCH, Akash Missile systems, and radars, showcasing competitive and reliable options for air forces in the Global South, bolstering India’s economic and technological influence.

Additionally, he reiterated the IAF’s active involvement in international Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) operations, reinforcing India’s leadership in the Global South.

In another engagement, Air Chief Marshal Chaudhari visited the headquarters of Maintenance Command and Economic Explosives Limited (EEL) facilities in Nagpur, Maharashtra. He was briefed about the company’s latest products and visited various integrated plants and production facilities, gaining insights into ammunition and explosives production, including the manufacturing processes for Pinaka rockets.
