In Vijayawada, a pivotal meeting concerning the groundwork for the impending Assembly and general elections in Andhra Pradesh commenced with the Election Commission of India (ECI) spearheading discussions. The ECI team, including prominent members like Senior Deputy Commissioner Dharmendra Sharma, Nitish Vyas, Deputy Commissioner Hirdesh Kumar, and Director Santosh Ajmira, convened to oversee the election preparations.

This two-day visit aims to assess and ensure comprehensive readiness for the upcoming elections across the state. Notable attendees included District Collectors, Superintendents of Police (SPs), the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Chief Secretary (CS), and the Director General of Police (DGP).

Deliberations in the meeting encompassed a range of essential topics crucial for the smooth conduct of the assembly elections. Matters such as meticulous drafting and refinement of the voter list were thoroughly examined. Authorities emphasized discussions on district-wise voter numbers, fine-tuning polling station details, and devising strategies to address concerns in areas presenting challenges.

The agenda on Friday involved meetings with collectors representing 18 districts, followed by a continuation of engagements with collectors from 8 districts scheduled for Saturday. Furthermore, a meeting is slated for Saturday afternoon, engaging officials at both the central and state levels directly involved in the election process.

The collective discussions and strategic planning during this meeting signify the ECI’s commitment to ensuring a well-prepared and organized electoral process in Andhra Pradesh, crucial for the successful conduct of the upcoming assembly and general elections.
