Tragedy struck last night as a fatal car accident claimed the lives of two young individuals, including a groom on his way to his marriage reception in Nanke Chak. The ill-fated incident involved a Breeza car with registration number JK21-G 1311, transporting the groom and his friend from Lengath village to Samba.

As the vehicle approached Nanke Chak, it collided with a high-speed trailer bearing registration number PB04N 9375, en route from Punjab to Jammu.

The impact resulted in the trailer dragging the car for some distance before overturning, ultimately crushing the car and causing the instantaneous death of the two occupants. Tragically, among the victims was the groom, Sushil Kumar, son of Mansukh Dayal from Langath, near Nanke Chak, and his friend Romi, son of Ashok Kumar from Nanke Chak.Sushil Kumar, on the way to pick up his wife from a beauty parlor in Samba, where she was preparing for the marriage reception scheduled for Sunday night, met with this unfortunate accident.

The news of their untimely demise cast a shadow over the joyous celebration, plunging the marriage reception into mourning. Shocked family members, friends, and relatives of the deceased were enveloped in sorrow.

Reports indicate that the car was severely crushed by the trailer when it overturned, trapping the lifeless bodies inside. The police and traffic personnel, employing cutters, made strenuous efforts to extract the bodies from the wreckage. Subsequently, the bodies were transported to Samba Hospital for postmortem and other necessary legal procedures.

The driver of the trailer remains at large, prompting a police manhunt.The aftermath of the accident resulted in a significant traffic jam on the Jammu-Pathankot National Highway, with vehicles stranded up to five kilometers. It took hours for the police and traffic authorities to clear the congestion and restore normalcy on the highway.The local community, upon hearing of the incident, rushed to the scene in a state of panic.

They contacted the police to assist in retrieving the bodies, given the severe damage to the car and the challenging extraction process. Sushil Kumar’s marriage had occurred just two days prior, adding to the somber atmosphere as the family had planned a marriage reception party in Samba on that fateful Sunday night.
