    The Samba police scored a significant victory by apprehending the mastermind behind a gang of cattle thieves, leading to the recovery of stolen livestock and the confiscation of the vehicle used in these criminal activities.

    A case has been filed under Sections 457 (Lurking house-trespass or house-breaking by night to commit an offense) and 380 (Theft in the house) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Purmandal police station, and an ongoing investigation is in progress.

    The apprehended kingpin, identified as Hamid Din from Kheri in Bishnah, Jammu district, was taken into custody by a police team led by Purmandal SHO Vijay Verma, supervised by Bari Brahmana SDPO Rahul Nagar, and overseen by Samba Additional SP Surinder Choudhary, according to an official spokesperson.

    Samba SSP Benam Tosh urged the general public to ensure the safety of domestic animals by keeping them in secure locations, thereby preventing any cruelty inflicted by cattle thieves and bovine smugglers.
