Girish Chandra Murmu, the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India, commemorated the third Audit Day, marking the significant occasion of the appointment of the first Auditor General of India and the establishment of the CAG institution on 16 November 1860. Recognizing its historical importance, November 16 has been celebrated as Audit Diwas since 2021.

A notable achievement in 2023 has been the complete digital transition of audit processes. The implementation of the unique One IAAD One System (OIOS) marks a significant step towards streamlined and efficient auditing. This system serves as a singular, reliable source for all audit processes.

Data analysis has become an integral part of the CAG’s audit processes, with the regular use of advanced tools like drones, GPS, and remote sensing. These tools have enabled deeper insights and more nuanced observations in audits. Additionally, the integration of accounting offices with state government financial systems has provided access to extensive financial.
