The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) in Shopian conducted a search operation in Rawalpora Shopian regarding the terror attack on non-local laborers at Gagren Shopian. The search targeted the non-residential premises of Hanzal Yaqoob Shah, an active terrorist and son of Mohammad Yaqoob Shah, associated with the proscribed terror outfit LeT. This action was taken in connection with case FIR No. 126/2023 under sections 307 IPC, 7/27 IAA, 16, 18, 20, 23, 38, 39 UAP Act of P/S Shopian, according to a police spokesperson.

On 13/07/2023, armed terrorists targeted and injured three non-local laborers with illicit weapons in Gagren Shopian, as reported by the police.
