In a significant development, Union Minister for Ayush, Shipping, and Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal, along with the Union Minister of State for Ayush and Ministry for Woman and Child Development, presented National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH) accreditation certificates to five Ayush Health and Wellness Centres (HWCs) operating in Jammu and Udhampur districts. This recognition underscores the commitment to enhancing healthcare quality and promoting traditional Indian medicine systems.

The certificates were bestowed upon Ayush Health & Wellness Centres Sunjawan, Khandwal, Phallian, Jammu, Dalpad, and Jib Udhampur during a program organized by the Union Ministry of Ayush to celebrate National Ayurveda Day 2023 at Panchkula Chandigarh.

These accredited centers were lauded for their commitment to providing exemplary facilities, including the distribution of Ayush medicines, wellness and therapeutic yoga sessions, and comprehensive care.

The holistic approach extends to the optimum utilization of human resources, control of communicable and prevention of non-communicable diseases, school health checkups, and community health programs. This recognition highlights their dedication to promoting the overall well-being of the community.

Jammu & Kashmir Health Department Recognized for Excellence in Ayush Healthcare

During the event, the Union Minister for Ayush commended the Health Department of Jammu & Kashmir for its outstanding efforts in providing top-notch Ayush healthcare facilities to the people. He emphasized the need to position Ayurveda as the primary choice of treatment for individuals, highlighting its global acceptance due to effective and patient-friendly treatment protocols.In his address, the Director Ayush, J&K, provided insights into the progress made in upgrading standalone Ayush dispensaries to AYUSH Health & Wellness Centres under the National Ayush Mission.

These centers, now numbering 456 out of the sanctioned 571, offer comprehensive primary Ayush healthcare facilities, including diagnostics, Prakrati determination, therapeutic and wellness yoga sessions, and public health outreach programs.The director revealed that since April 2023, over 32 lakh patients have availed Ayush consultations in these centers. Furthermore, through public health outreach initiatives, these centers have provided consultations based on Ayush principles and practices to an impressive 60 lakh beneficiaries. This signifies a substantial impact on community health and a positive step towards promoting traditional medicine systems.
