Harry Kane Extends Bayern Munich Contract Until 2029, Reportedly Becomes Europe’s Highest-Paid Player
MUNICH, November 5, 2026 (VoM News): England captain Harry Kane has signed a contract extension with Bayern Munich, keeping him at the German champions until at least 2029 in a deal reportedly making him the highest-paid footballer in European football.
According to reports by The Athletic and German media, Kane will earn a gross annual salary exceeding 25 million euros. The agreement is understood to be the most lucrative contract in Bayern Munich’s history and places him at the top of Europe’s earnings rankings based on basic salary, although some players may earn more through performance-related bonuses.
Bayern are reportedly keen to retain the striker beyond the new contract, with a further extension not ruled out.
Kane joined Bayern from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023 for a reported transfer fee of 100 million euros. Since arriving in Munich, he has scored 156 goals and provided 40 assists in 161 appearances, while winning five trophies, including two league titles.
Expressing his satisfaction with the extension, Kane said he felt at home at Bayern and praised the club, its supporters, the city of Munich and head coach Vincent Kompany.
Bayern chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen described the agreement as positive news for the club, its fans and the Bundesliga. Club president Herbert Hainer also praised Kane’s contribution, saying the striker had become an important part of Bayern’s history.
Kane’s new deal follows an outstanding run of performances last season, during which he scored 71 goals for Bayern and England. He was also named the 2026 Ballon d’Or winner at the ceremony held in London last month.
