Senior IPS officer Annepu Vijaya Laxmi Takes Charge as CRPF IG Jammu Sector

JAMMU, INDIA, AUGUST 29 [VoM News]: Senior IPS officer Annepu Vijaya Laxmi has taken charge as Inspector General of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Jammu Sector, succeeding 2004-batch IPS officer Amol Vinukant Homkar.

A 2006-batch Indian Police Service officer of the Jharkhand cadre, Vijaya Laxmi has been posted to the CRPF on Central deputation under an order issued earlier this month. She was formally relieved by the Jharkhand government to take up the new assignment.

Before moving to the CRPF, Vijaya Laxmi was serving as Inspector General of Police, Training, in the Jharkhand Police. Her deputation to the Central Government was approved in June, following which the Jharkhand Chief Secretary was asked to relieve her for the new posting.

She has now assumed charge as IG of the CRPF Jammu Sector, taking over from Homkar, who was posted to Jammu in February this year.

The appointment brings a change in leadership at a time when the CRPF continues to have a significant role in security and counter-insurgency operations across Jammu and Kashmir.

Vijaya Laxmi’s new responsibility will involve overseeing the CRPF Jammu Sector and its operational and security-related activities in the region.

Her posting comes as security forces continue to maintain a strong presence across Jammu and Kashmir, with the CRPF working alongside the Jammu and Kashmir Police and other security agencies in counter-insurgency and internal security operations.
