26 Locations Raided, Searches Underway in Sopore, Jammu Kashmir Following Recent Terror Attacks

Srinagar, Aug. 9, 2026 [VoM News]: A massive crackdown has been launched by police against the banned Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI) in the Sopore area of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.

As per details available with VoM News, nearly 26 locations have been raided simultaneously.

These raids are part of an ongoing investigation under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).

Searches are being carried out at residential houses and business establishments in Sopore town and several villages, including Bomai, Tarzoo, Shutloo, Rohama, Goripora and Behrampora.

Police sources told VoM News that no fresh arrests had been made till the last communication.

The action has been taken against the banned organisation following the recent terror attacks.
