256.46 Crore Sanctioned for Ladakh Tourism Development; 86.39 Crore for Anantnag, Pulwama, Zanskar and and kishtwar

The Centre has sanctioned nearly an amount of 256.46 crore for the Ladakh Tourism Development, aimed at bolstering the tourism upliftment in Ladakh region. On December 9, 2014, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, who is the Minister for Tourism made this announcement.

Under the scheme, Swadesh Darshan, Swadesh Darshan 2.0 and different intiatives, the amount aimed at promotion of infrastructure and developmental activities, as per perspective of tourism.

Ladakh has a immense tourism potential, and this needs to be groomed up, which require a major amount. Around 77.3 crore has been earmarked for facilities development along all routes, whereas 86.39 Crore allocated for infrastructure development in Anantnag, Pulwama, Zanskar and and kishtwar regions, where an amount of 91.84 crore has been allocated for infrastructure development on Gulmarg-Baramulla-kupwara-kargil-Leh route.

In ladakh, Tourist Police force gives a handsome suport to visitors at popular tourist destinations. The development in tourism infrastructure can leads to employment generation, which can play a vital role in tracking unemployment ratio in the country.
