Last October, Xiaomi introduced the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro in China, featuring the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC and the innovative HyperOS interface. The tech giant is now rumored to expand this lineup with the imminent launch of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. Recently, hands-on images of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra surfaced online, providing a detailed look at the device’s design. Notably, it showcases a quad-camera setup with a periscope lens positioned on the lower right side. Expected to run on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is anticipated to make a significant impact.

The leaked images, initially posted on Coolapk (now deleted) and shared via SlashLeaks, showcase what appears to be a prototype Xiaomi 14 Ultra. The device is encased in a protective cover, prominently revealing a distinct camera bump on the rear housing the periscope lens. Comparatively, the camera island seems slightly larger than its predecessor, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra.

The images reveal a white label on the back, featuring markings such as ‘N1’ indicating Leica-branded cameras, ‘EU’ suggesting a European variant, and ‘P2’ hinting that the unit may be a prototype employed for internal testing by engineers. Notably, the photos also display the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, Xiaomi 14 Pro, and Vivo X100 Pro.

The Xiaomi 14 Ultra is expected to officially debut in March, boasting a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The device is set to feature four 50-megapixel cameras, with the primary sensor being the Sony LYT900 equipped with an f/1.63 aperture. Running on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, the phone is rumored to incorporate slightly curved screens and an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner for secure authentication. Additionally, a robust 5,180mAh battery with 90W wired charging support and 50W wireless charging support is speculated.

The Xiaomi 14 Ultra will join the existing Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro models, both unveiled in China last October. These devices run on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC and leverage Xiaomi’s HyperOS interface. Featuring LTPO OLED displays with up to 2K resolution, they showcase a Leica-tuned triple rear camera setup.

Xiaomi continues to make waves in the smartphone industry, having recently launched its camera-focused flagship, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. Meanwhile, Apple marked a significant milestone by opening its first stores in India this week.
