In a significant breakthrough, Manipur Police, in collaboration with central armed forces personnel, successfully seized a cache of weapons, ammunition, drugs, and cash from the Myanmar-based militant group CKLA (Chahng Kaisinlung Army). The announcement was made by Manipur’s Chief Minister, N. Biren Singh, on his official social media platform.

The operation resulted in the recovery of various arms and armaments, including AK47, Insas, Sniper, and M16 rifles, in addition to a substantial quantity of ammunition. Among the items seized, approximately 2.5 kg of opium and Rs 4,86,500 in cash were included. The operation was a testament to the dedication and commitment of the law enforcement agencies involved.
Transnational Conspiracy Uncovered
Chief Minister Singh also shed light on the broader context of the operation, revealing that earlier, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) had initiated cases related to a ‘transnational conspiracy.’ According to the information, terrorist organizations operating in neighboring Myanmar and Bangladesh were allegedly involved in a plot to wage war against the Indian government, exploiting the unrest in Manipur for their purposes.
Singh emphasized that the successful operation against CKLA militants and the subsequent recovery of weapons highlighted a transnational plot aimed at destabilizing both Manipur and the entire nation. The operation serves as a testament to the vigilance and coordinated efforts of security agencies in thwarting such threats and ensuring the safety and security of the region and the nation.
This significant breakthrough underscores the importance of international cooperation and proactive measures in countering transnational threats and maintaining peace and stability.
