Voting Underway in 93 Seats: Lok Sabha Elections
UNI New Delhi// Voting for the third phase of Lok Sabha Elections 2024 for 93 seats in 11 states and union territories began at 7 am on Tuesday and will continue till 6 pm. A total of 17.24 crore voters will decide the electoral fate of 1351 candidates including 120 women in these seats.
The Election Commission has changed the date of voting in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag Rajouri seat in the third phase and now voting will be held here along with the sixth phase on May 25. Voting in Madhya Pradesh’s Betul has been shifted from the second to the third phase due to the death of a Bahujan Samaj Party candidate. Chief Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar and Election Commissioners Gyanesh Kumar and Mr. Sukhbir Singh Sindhu finalized the preparations for the elections.
“Cast your vote and participate in the celebration of ‘Festival of Elections, Pride of the Nation’,” said a message to the country’s voters on the day of voting for the third phase of the 2024 general elections. According to the commission, out of over 17.24 crore voters eligible to vote in the third phase, 8.85 crore are male and 8.39 crore are female voters. Among those who voted, 14.04 lakh voters are above the age of 85 and 15.66 lakh disabled voters will exercise their franchise in the third phase.
