Vivo S18 Series Set to Launch in China with Advanced Features
Vivo is gearing up for the launch of its S18 series in China, with the company teasing the design and color options of the upcoming handsets. While the exact launch date remains unannounced, Vivo has shared a teaser image on the Chinese microblogging platform, showcasing the Vivo S18 series in two finishes.
Successors to the Vivo S17 Series
The Vivo S18 and Vivo S18 Pro are set to succeed the Vivo S17 and Vivo S17 Pro, which were released in May earlier this year. The teaser, posted by Vivo’s Vice President Ouyang Weifeng, hints at similarities in design with the Vivo S17 series, featuring curved screens and available in Porcelain and Jade shades.
Camera Features and Aura Lighting
A notable aspect of the new series is its triple rear camera setup with VCS branding, promising optical image stabilization (OIS). The handsets also boast Aura lighting around the camera module, designed to enhance night portraits, along with a squared-shaped LED flash.
Launch Details and Specifications
Although Vivo has confirmed the series’ imminent arrival, details regarding the launch date and full specifications remain undisclosed. According to leaks, the Vivo S18 may be powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC, while the Pro variant could feature a MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ SoC and a 50-megapixel Sony IMX920 sensor. Both models are expected to include a 5,000mAh battery with 80W fast charging, AMOLED displays, and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity.
Vivo S17 Series and Pricing
The previous Vivo S17 series, including the S17, S17t, and S17 Pro models, launched in China in May. The pricing for the regular variants started at CNY 2,499 (roughly Rs. 29,100), with the S17 Pro beginning at CNY 3,099 (roughly Rs. 36,100). Information about an official release in India for these models is still pending.
