In a historic event, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Union Minister for Railways, Ashwini Vaishnaw, jointly unveiled the highly anticipated Vistadome train services in the picturesque region of Kashmir. The inauguration ceremony, graced by Union Ministers and Chief Ministers of Assam and Tripura through video conferencing, exemplified the convergence of political leadership and technological advancements. Vistadome Train Service: A Gateway to Progress
Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw expressed his excitement about the rapid development in Jammu and Kashmir over the last nine years. He highlighted the completion of significant railway projects, including the iconic Chenab Bridge and numerous tunnels. The introduction of Vistadome services further solidifies the commitment to improving transportation and connectivity in the region.

The Lieutenant Governor, in his address, thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for introducing Vistadome train services to the Kashmir Valley. He stated that this innovative travel experience, with its wide windows, revolving chairs, and glass rooftop, not only brings a touch of modernity but also provides a panoramic view of the region’s stunning landscapes. This addition is expected to boost tourism and contribute to the economic growth and cultural enrichment of the area, fostering livelihood opportunities for the local population.
The event was attended by various dignitaries, including Mayor Junaid Azim Mattu, Member of Parliament Dr. Farooq Abdullah, and Chairman of DDC Srinagar Aftab Malik. The presence of senior officials from Northern Railways, the Civil and Police Administration, and a large audience further underscored the importance of the momentous occasion.
