In a disturbing incident, South Korean ruling party lawmaker Bae Hyun-jin, 40, was attacked on a street in Seoul’s Gangnam district. The assailant struck her with an unidentified blunt object, resulting in injuries. Fortunately, her condition is reported as “not life-threatening.”

This incident follows a similar attack about a month ago when the leader of the opposition party, Lee Jae-myung, was stabbed in the neck in Busan. Although he recovered after surgery, these incidents raise concerns about the safety of high-profile politicians in South Korea.
