Uttarakhand CM Updates Governor on Haldwani Clashes
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met with Governor Lt Gen (retd) Gurmit Singh to brief him on the law and order situation following the violent clashes in Haldwani’s Banbhoolpura area. Dhami directed swift action, emphasizing the immediate arrest of miscreants. The state government issued a high alert across Uttarakhand, and security was heightened in Banbhoolpura. Internet services were suspended, and schools and colleges were closed. Uttarakhand Police are using CCTV footage to identify rioters and stone-pelters, while the district administration assured strict action against the accused.
