Two Infiltrators Killed in Uri:Army.image/Kashmir life
In a recent operation conducted along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Uri area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district, the Indian Army, in collaboration with the police, successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt by heavily armed militants. This operation resulted in the elimination of two infiltrators, preventing any potential security threat to the region.
High Alert and Precise Intelligence
The operation was conducted in response to precise intelligence provided by intelligence agencies and the Jammu and Kashmir Police. The information indicated a potential infiltration attempt in the Uri Sector by heavily armed terrorists from across the LoC. As a result, Indian troops were placed on high alert, and counter-infiltration measures were bolstered to protect the region.
Fierce Exchange of Gunfire
Exploiting adverse weather conditions, such as continuous rainfall and poor visibility, a group of armed terrorists attempted to cross the LoC. Around 3 pm, alert troops intercepted the group, leading to a fierce exchange of gunfire. The intense firefight continued until dusk, resulting in the elimination of two terrorists. The remaining insurgents retreated to the enemy side of the LoC, taking the deceased terrorists’ bodies with them.
Discovery of Substantial Military Supplies
Following the encounter, the area remained under constant surveillance. A comprehensive search operation was conducted on October 22 and 23, revealing significant evidence and an assortment of substantial military supplies. Among the findings were two AK series rifles, six pistols, four Chinese grenades, blankets, and two blood-stained bags containing Pakistani and Indian currency notes, Pakistani medicines, and provisions.

Recovery of Blood-Stained Bags Raises Questions
The recovery of two blood-stained bags raises questions about the incident. The presence of these bags suggests that at least two militants sustained severe injuries during the firefight, compelling them to abandon their supplies and retreat across the LoC. This discovery provides valuable insights into the events that transpired during the operation.
Due to unfavorable weather conditions, the search operation has been temporarily halted but is expected to resume once the weather permits. The operation remains ongoing, emphasizing the security forces’ commitment to safeguarding the region and preventing any potential threats from across the LoC.
