Trump Not Fit to Lead the United States, Says Former Republican Congresswoman Liz Cheney
Former Republican Congresswoman Liz Cheney, while campaigning for Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris, stated that Donald Trump is not fit to lead the United States. Cheney urged Americans to prioritize the country over the party. Ahead of the November 5 elections, Cheney’s comments could bolster Harris as she seeks to court Republican and centrist voters.
She remarked, “I was a Republican even before Donald Trump started spray tanning. Now, I am proudly casting my vote for Kamala Harris.”
Former Republican Congresswoman Liz Cheney and her father, Dick Cheney, are among the few Republicans who have endorsed Kamala Harris over Donald Trump. Both have sharply criticized Trump, particularly for his refusal to accept his 2020 election defeat and for his role in the U.S. Capitol attack.
Cheney, who was the top Republican on the House of Representatives committee that investigated the January 6 riot, was exiled from her party.
Cheney stated that although she and Harris might disagree on some issues, they are united in their commitment to the Constitution. “She will be a president who defends the rule of law,” Cheney said.
Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris has adopted a center-to-right stance on various issues, vowing staunch support for Israel, a tough border policy on migration, and a commitment to keeping fuel costs low.
