Truck Drivers End Protest After Centre’s Assurance on Consultation Before New Law Implementation
Truck drivers have called off their protest following assurances from the central government regarding consultations before implementing a new law. In a recent meeting with the Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, the President of the All India Motor Transport Congress, Amrit Lal Madan, announced that the ten-year punishment and fine stipulated in the Hit and Run law would be temporarily suspended.
The government has committed to refraining from enforcing any new laws until the next meeting of the All India Motor Transport Congress takes place, ensuring a consultative process moving forward.
