Tragic Road Accidents in Himachal Pradesh Claim 3 Lives; 2 Injured
A series of road accidents in Himachal Pradesh resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries, underscoring the perilous conditions of hilly roads in the region. In a recent incident at the Janjehli hill station area of Mandi district, a car accident led to the tragic loss of three lives, with two others sustaining injuries. The accident occurred on Monday evening around 5.45 pm near Magrugala in the Janjehli police station area.
Accident in Mandi and Shimla Districts
The deceased, identified as Madan Lal, Jayanti Devi, and Bhim Singh, were traveling in a car that plunged into a gorge. The injured were promptly taken to Janjehli Hospital for medical assistance. The District Emergency Operations Centre (DEOC) of Mandi district reported the incident, confirming that an investigation was in progress, with further details awaited.
In a separate incident on the same day, six people were killed and another six critically injured when their vehicle, a pickup truck carrying laborers from Kashmir, veered off the road and fell into a gorge near Sunni in the Shimla district. The accident occurred as the truck was traveling from Kadharghat towards Sunni. Three laborers died at the scene, while three others succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.

In yet another incident in Shimla, a truck crashed into four vehicles parked on the roadside at Vikas Nagar. Fortunately, this accident did not result in any injuries, but the vehicles involved were significantly damaged. These consecutive road accidents highlight the need for enhanced safety measures and awareness to prevent such tragedies on the challenging roads of Himachal Pradesh.
