Tragic Electric Shock Incident in Ganderbal: One Dead, One Injured

A tragic event unfolded in the Batwina area of Ganderbal district on Friday morning, leading to the death of a 25-year-old man and serious injuries to another.
The incident occurred when Peer Suhail, son of Bahudin, and Annayat Ahmad Bhat, son of Fayaz Ahmad Bhat from Dangerpora, Ganderbal, were washing a service station.
While working, the two men suffered a severe electric shock. The exact cause of the shock remains unclear, but it resulted in Peer Suhail losing his life and Annayat Ahmad Bhat sustaining critical injuries.
Following the incident, both men were quickly transported to the Community Health Center (CHC) Sumbal for urgent medical treatment. Unfortunately, upon arrival at the health center, Peer Suhail was declared dead.
The medical team at the CHC attempted to revive him, but their efforts were in vain. His death has left the local community in shock and mourning.
Annayat Ahmad Bhat, who also received a significant electric shock, was initially in a critical condition. However, medical professionals have since stabilized his condition. He remains under close observation, with ongoing treatment to ensure his recovery.
In response to the incident, local police have taken swift action by initiating a thorough investigation. Authorities are keen to understand the circumstances that led to this tragedy, including any possible negligence or safety lapses at the service station.
The investigation will aim to determine the exact cause of the electric shock and assess whether proper safety protocols were in place.
This incident has raised concerns about workplace safety in the region, with many calling for stricter enforcement of safety regulations to prevent such tragedies in the future.
