Three men from South Kashmir’s Anantnag district tragically lost their lives after their vehicle veered off the road and plunged into a gorge in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
The accident took place on Friday on the Tanghdar-Teethwal road, near the Sikh bridge, a spot notorious for its treacherous terrain.
The victims have been identified as Mushtaq Ahmed Khan, 41, son of Ghulam Nabi Khan; Feroz Ahmed Pala, 45, son of Abdul Salaam Pala; and Nazir Ahmed Magray, 55, son of Mohammad Sultan Magray.
All three were residents of Seer Hamdan in Anantnag, a town in the southern part of Kashmir.
According to officials, the vehicle was traveling along the challenging mountainous route when it suddenly veered off course. The vehicle then fell into a deep gorge, leading to the immediate deaths of the three men.
The exact cause of the vehicle’s loss of control remains unclear, though authorities are investigating whether factors such as the road’s condition, weather, or mechanical failure played a role.

The families of the deceased have been informed, and the bodies have been sent for post-mortem examinations.
The tragic accident has left the local community in shock and mourning, as the victims were well-known and respected in their hometown of Seer Hamdan.
