In a devastating incident that occurred on Friday morning in Andhra Pradesh’s Annamaya district, a tragic collision involving a jeep and a lorry claimed the lives of five individuals and left eleven others injured, with seven in critical condition. As the circle inspector of Methampally, Nagababu, informed, “A total of five people perished in the accident. Of the injured persons, seven are said to be in serious condition. They are admitted at the Tirupati Rua Hospital.” Unfortunately, with seven of the injured still in serious condition, there is a looming possibility that the death toll may rise.

The accident occurred when a lorry, en route from Kadapa to Chittor, collided with a jeep carrying 16 pilgrims who were returning from a visit to Tirumala to Belagavi, Karnataka. The collision left the front portion of the lorry heavily damaged, while the jeep was left in a mangled state.
