Tragic Car Collision in Uttar Pradesh; Claims Lives of Eight, Including a Child
A devastating incident occurred late last night in Uttar Pradesh, resulting in the death of eight passengers, including a child, as their car collided with a truck on the highway and caught fire.
The car, reportedly locked centrally, became an inescapable trap for seven adults and a child in Bareilly, as confirmed by the police.
Tragic footage from the accident site along the Nainital highway revealed the burning car situated next to the truck. Investigations suggest that the car’s doors likely jammed following the collision, preventing the occupants from escaping the blaze.
Sushil Chandra Bhan Dhule, Senior Superintendent of Police in Bareilly, reported that the car had swerved into the opposite lane, colliding with the truck.
He explained that the subsequent dragging of the vehicle led to the ignition of the fire. The car’s centralized locking system contributed to the unfortunate loss of lives due to the unyielding flames.
Officials stated that the passengers were en route to attend a wedding when the tragic accident occurred.
The bodies of the victims have been sent for post-mortem examinations as part of the investigative process.
