Tragedy Strikes Mumbai’s Goregaon: Seven Lives Lost in Devastating Fire
A catastrophic fire engulfed a seven-story building in Mumbai’s Goregaon, leaving a trail of devastation in its wake. The incident claimed the lives of seven individuals, including two minors, and left over 40 others injured. Of the injured, 12 were males, 28 were females, and one was a minor. Swift medical attention was provided as the injured were rushed to HBT Hospital and Cooper Hospital in Mumbai.
The fire outbreak occurred at approximately 3 am in the Jay Bhavani building, situated in the Azad Nagar locality of Goregaon West. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) reported that the flames quickly consumed the structure, posing a grave threat to its occupants.
The injured were transported to a trauma center in Jogeshwari and Cooper Hospital in Juhu, where medical personnel worked tirelessly to provide necessary care and treatment.
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis expressed his condolences and pledged support for the affected families, stating, “Pained to know about the loss of lives in the fire incident at #Goregaon, Mumbai. We are in touch with BMC & Mumbai Police officials & all the assistance is being provided. My deepest condolences to the families who lost their loved ones and wishing speedy recovery to the injured ones.”
The fire, which raged uncontrollably, resulted in the destruction of shops, scrap materials, and vehicles parked on the ground floor of the building. Authorities have initiated an investigation into the cause of this tragic incident.
This heartbreaking incident serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of fire safety measures and the need for constant vigilance to prevent such devastating events in the future.
