
Top Lawyers Line Up as AAP Forms Strong Legal Team for MLA Mehraj Malik’s PSA Case
New Delhi/Jammu, Sept 14: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced that it is forming a strong legal front to challenge the detention of its Jammu and Kashmir legislator, Mehraj Malik, who was arrested under the Public Safety Act (PSA).
According to revelations made by AAP leader Imran Hussain, the legal team will be spearheaded by Senior Advocate Nirmal K. Kotwal, President of the J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu. He will be joined by Advocate Muzaffar Khan, a former judge, and prominent lawyer Advocate Sheikh Shakeel Ahmad. The team will also have the assistance of Advocate Appu Singh Slathia.
In addition, several noted lawyers including Advocate Arvind Bandral, Advocate Joginder Singh Thakur, Advocate Gaurav Sarangal, Advocate Sandeep Sharma, Advocate Asim Hashmi, and Advocate M. Tariq Mughal will extend their support in the case.
Extending support from Kashmir, Deeba Khan, Vice President of AAP Kashmir Province and Incharge of the Women’s Wing, welcomed the party’s move, expressing confidence in the legal process. “Pleased to hear that the party has put in place a strong legal team to represent @MehrajMalikAAP sb. We have complete faith in the judiciary and are hopeful that the truth shall prevail,” she stated, adding the hashtag #JusticeForMehraj.
AAP leaders reiterated that the party stands firmly with Mehraj Malik, stressing that every legal remedy will be pursued to secure his release and to ensure justice is served.
