TMC Protest Against Central Government in West Bengal
The Trinamool Congress (TMC) organized a protest rally from Jadavpur to Garia against the BJP-led central government. TMC leaders, including State General Secretary Kunal Ghosh, participated in the rally, citing concerns about the alleged withholding of central funds and misuse of central agencies like the CBI and ED. The TMC has consistently raised objections, claiming delays in fund allocation for initiatives such as the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) and other social security programs in West Bengal.
However, the Ministry of Rural Development stated that funds were stopped in March 2022 due to the state’s non-compliance with central directives. The protest reflects ongoing tensions between the state and central governments.
