Terrorism on Its Last Breath: LG J&K Manoj Sinha
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha made a significant announcement on Monday, underlining the positive changes in the union territory’s security situation. He expressed confidence that terrorism is on the decline and declared that it is “taking its last breath” in the region. In addition to this, Mr. Sinha also addressed the concerns of the Kashmiri Pandit community, emphasizing their safety and well-being in the region.
Security Progress and Ongoing Challenges
During a gathering at the Mata Bhadrakali shrine, on the outskirts of Jammu city, Mr. Sinha spoke to Kashmiri Pandits and provided reassurance. He acknowledged that, in the past, terrorists had targeted soft spots to instill fear within the community. He went on to reveal that efforts were ongoing to ensure the security of vulnerable groups, including Kashmiri Pandits and minorities. Furthermore, he pointed out the neighboring country’s deliberate attempts to keep the terrorism pot boiling in Jammu and Kashmir.
A Brighter Future for Kashmiri Pandit Employees
Mr. Sinha also revealed plans to address housing needs for government employees belonging to the Kashmiri Pandit community. These employees will be offered land at subsidized rates in Srinagar, ensuring affordable housing. He reassured the community that these arrangements would be executed promptly and welcomed their concerns and feedback.
Accommodations for Kashmiri Pandit employees in the region are also in the works, and security measures will be enhanced. A proposal for these security measures has been submitted to the Home Ministry, and Mr. Sinha expressed hope for a prompt response leading to its implementation.
In summary, the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir is on an upward trajectory, and the government is actively working to ensure the safety and well-being of vulnerable communities. This includes providing affordable housing options for Kashmiri Pandit employees, fostering hope for a brighter future in the region.
