Tejashwi Yadav Appears Before ED in Land-for-Jobs Case

Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav, the former Bihar Deputy CM, arrives at the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office to face inquiries related to the Land-for-jobs case. The ED had issued notices against several individuals, including Rabri Devi and Misha Bharti, for further trial in the alleged scam.

    PMLA Court Issues Notices

A PMLA court directs individuals, including Amit Katyal, Rabri Devi, Misha Bharti, Hema Yadav, and Hridyanand Chaudhary, to be present on February 9, 2024, for further trial in the Land-for-jobs case. The notices follow the ED filing a prosecution complaint under the PMLA against the accused, including two companies.

    Land-for-Jobs Scam Allegations

The ED initiated investigations based on a CBI FIR, accusing former Railway Minister Lalu Yadav of corruption in the appointment of Group D substitutes in Indian Railways during 2004-2009. The alleged scam involved candidates transferring land for jobs. The ED claims that Lalu’s family members received land parcels for nominal amounts, and shell companies facilitated money laundering.

As Tejashwi Yadav faces ED inquiries, the Land-for-Jobs case continues to unravel, involving prominent political figures and allegations of corruption in the appointment processes in Indian Railways.
