    The inaugural group of pilgrims from Srinagar embarked on their journey to Medina, Saudi Arabia, expressing gratitude to the government for assistance and reflecting on the spiritual significance of the pilgrimage. Departing from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, 285 pilgrims began the annual Haj pilgrimage, facilitated by enhanced support and the introduction of the ‘Har Suvidha’ mobile application for pilgrim convenience and security.

    Kausar Jahan, Chairperson of the Delhi State Haj Committee, commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for improving pilgrimage arrangements, with 16,500 pilgrims registered to depart from Delhi this year. Meanwhile, in Rajasthan’s Pali district, arrangements were made to vaccinate 80 pilgrims before departure, underlining the importance of vaccinations in safeguarding pilgrims’ health.

    As preparations for Haj 2024 are reviewed in Jeddah and Medina, the pilgrimage remains a cornerstone of Islam, symbolizing unity, forgiveness, and spiritual renewal. Haj draws millions of Muslims worldwide, fostering a shared commitment to faith and equality before Allah, transcending differences and embracing unity.
