Srinagar-Leh Highway Reopens After Snowfall

The crucial Srinagar-Leh national highway, essential for linking the Kashmir Valley to Ladakh, has been successfully reopened following its closure due to heavy snowfall on January 28.

According to an official report, a total of 10 vehicles from the Kargil-Sonamarg route and 27 vehicles from the Srinagar-Kargil routes have successfully crossed the Zojila axis, facilitating the transit of 160 passengers on their journey.

Additionally, it was highlighted that the district administration of Kargil played a significant role in the reopening efforts. They contributed by dispatching 10 vehicles to Srinagar, aimed at picking up passengers, including students, thus aiding in the seamless restoration of connectivity.
