South African Pacer Lungi Ngidi Ruled Out of T20I and Test Series Against India

South African fast bowler Lungi Ngidi has suffered a left ankle sprain, forcing him to withdraw from the upcoming three-match T20I and two-game Test series against India. The 27-year-old pacer’s return to play will be determined after assessment by Cricket South Africa’s medical team.

Beuran Hendricks Called Up as Replacement

In response to Ngidi’s injury, 33-year-old Beuran Hendricks has been summoned to replace him in South Africa’s squad. Hendricks, a left-arm fast bowler, brings experience to the team with 19 T20I appearances. He last played a match in July 2021.

Newcomers in South Africa’s Test Squad

South African fast bowler Nandre Burger, along with batters David Bedingham and Tristan Stubbs, has received their maiden call-ups to the Test squad for the series against India. Wicketkeeper Kyle Verreynne has also been recalled.
