Siddaramaiah Affirms Loyalty to Congress, Criticizes BJP-RSS Ideologies
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah made clear his allegiance to the Congress party, asserting that he would never join the BJP, even if offered positions like President or Prime Minister. Addressing SC-ST activists, he emphasized ideological clarity and warned against falling for BJP-RSS narratives.
Opposition to BJP-RSS Ideologies:
Siddaramaiah criticized the BJP-RSS stance on social justice, highlighting their opposition to reservations, which he deemed as essential rights for oppressed communities. He condemned attempts to revive discriminatory practices like Manusmriti, advocating for the preservation of reservation until caste-based discrimination is eradicated.
Appeal for Awareness and Support:
Highlighting Congress’ commitment to social justice, Siddaramaiah urged people to reject alliances with parties like JDS, which have aligned with the RSS. He underscored Congress’ efforts in enacting laws for Dalit welfare and reservation implementation, contrasting them with BJP’s historical opposition to Mandal report and reservation for backward classes.
Election Focus and Call to Action:
With Lok Sabha elections approaching in Karnataka, Siddaramaiah urged voters to support Congress candidate M. Laxman, emphasizing the party’s progressive policies and track record in championing social justice. He cautioned against emotional manipulation by opposing parties and stressed the importance of informed decision-making.
Future Electoral Outlook:
As Karnataka gears up for elections, Siddaramaiah’s stance reflects Congress’ strategy to mobilize support among marginalized communities by highlighting its pro-reservation and social justice initiatives. The upcoming polls will test the resonance of these messages among voters and shape the state’s political landscape.
