Sharjah Chamber of Commerce Initiates Trade Mission to India

The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) launched its trade mission to India with the inaugural Sharjah-India Business Forum in Chennai. The event facilitated over 160 bilateral business meetings between representatives of companies participating in the trade mission and Indian companies from various sectors.

The forum reflects SCCI’s dedication to bolstering Emirati businesses in India, fostering new export channels, and facilitating communication with key stakeholders across sectors. Notable attendees included HE Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of SCCI, and other high-ranking officials.

Highlighting the robust UAE-India ties, Al Owais emphasized the potential for bilateral trade to reach $250 billion by 2030, with the UAE being India’s seventh largest investor. He underscored SCCI’s commitment to enhancing investments and partnerships between the two nations.

The trade mission aims to strengthen cooperation with Indian chambers and investment authorities, attracting more Indian investors to Sharjah while expanding global opportunities for SCCI members. Scheduled until May 10th, the mission will proceed to Mumbai for further engagements with commercial and industrial leaders.
