Security forces foil infiltration bid in Kupwara, two militants killed
SRINAGAR 18 July : In a significant development, security forces successfully foiled an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Thursday.
The operation resulted in the elimination of two militants, according to officials.
Infiltration Attempt in Keran Sector
The attempted infiltration took place in the Keran sector, a highly sensitive area in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Alert security personnel detected the movement of militants trying to cross the LoC under the cover of darkness. Acting swiftly, they engaged the infiltrators, leading to a fierce exchange of gunfire.
Militants Neutralized in Firefight
During the intense firefight, two militants were killed. Their identities and affiliations are yet to be determined, as the operation is still ongoing.
The area has been cordoned off, and a search operation is underway to ensure no more militants are hiding or attmpting to cross the border.
