A tragic incident unfolded in Shanoo village, Langate Handwara, resulting in the loss of a 37-year-old man’s life and the hospitalization of another individual. Officials reported that a sand mound collapse trapped Abdul Hamid Sheikh, the son of Khazir Mohammad, along with Shabir Ahmad Dar, the son of Gh Nabi Dar, at Watnar Shanoo.

Subsequently, they were rushed to District Hospital Handwara, where Abdul Hamid Sheikh, tragically, did not survive, and he was declared deceased upon arrival at the hospital, according to the officials.

The second individual, Shabir Ahmad Dar, is presently undergoing medical treatment, as reported by the officials.A police official, acknowledging the incident, confirmed that they have taken note of the matter and are looking into it.
