Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 Set for Launch Alongside Galaxy Z Fold 6 with Promising Upgrades: Larger Battery, 50MP Camera, and More
Expected to be unveiled later this year, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 is poised to launch alongside the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6, succeeding the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 unveiled in July 2023. While official confirmation from the company is pending, leaks regarding these anticipated foldable smartphones have surfaced online, suggesting potential upgrades.
Initial reports hinted at possible improvements to the camera and display of the Galaxy Z Flip 6. A recent leak from GalaxyClub now suggests that the clamshell foldable might boast a larger battery compared to its predecessor. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 is rumored to come equipped with a 4,000mAh battery, a notable increase from the 3,700mAh battery found in the Galaxy Z Flip 5. The report details that one of the tested batteries for the purported handset has a rated capacity of 1,097mAh, while the other is rated at 2,790mAh, resulting in a total rated capacity of 3,887mAh. It is expected to be marketed with a typical battery capacity of 4,000mAh. Interestingly, the recently launched Samsung Galaxy S24 is listed with a typical battery capacity of 4,000mAh, although it has a rated capacity of 3,880mAh.
In addition to a potential battery upgrade, previous reports from the same source suggested a significant improvement in the camera department. The Galaxy Z Flip 6 is rumored to feature a 50-megapixel primary rear sensor, a considerable leap from the dual 12-megapixel rear sensors of its predecessor. Details about the front camera, however, are yet to surface.
The next-generation clamshell foldable from Samsung is also expected to sport a larger display, with a reported 3.9-inch cover screen. This represents a 0.5-inch increase compared to the 3.4-inch Super AMOLED outer panel on the Galaxy Z Flip 5.
As a point of reference, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 is currently priced at Rs. 99,999 for the 8GB + 256GB variant, while the 8GB + 512GB option is available at Rs. 1,09,999 in India. It comes in Cream, Graphite, Mint, Lavender, and Yellow color options.
