Samba Police Arrests 2 Hardcore Cattle Thieves Smuggling in Luxurious Car

The Samba police achieved a significant breakthrough by apprehending two notorious cattle thieves from Jammu while they were smuggling cattle from the Samba border area.

Identified as Zaboor Ali alias Jubba and Sher Mohd alias Sheru, both hailing from Jammu, these hardened criminals were attempting to escape police surveillance by adopting new modus operandi, utilizing a luxurious car, and operating at midnight.

The arrested individuals, although from Jammu, were operating within the Samba district, dodging law enforcement for their criminal activities.

However, their interrogation is currently ongoing, and the police are conducting rigorous raids across Jammu and Samba to apprehend other members associated with this cattle theft gang, as identified in the ongoing investigation.

The directive for these arrests came from SSP Samba, Benam Tosh. The case, registered as FIR No. 292/2023 at the Samba Police Station, pertains to the apprehension of these hardcore cattle thieves.

Their capture occurred when their vehicle, a Skoda, met with an accident due to reckless speeding during odd hours of midnight while transporting cattle.

This is not the first brush with the law for these arrested individuals. They already have several criminal cases registered against them, including FIR No. 79/2021, FIR No. 112/2022, and FIR No. 38/2020, filed at the Bag-e-Bahu Police Station in Jammu.

The successful arrests were executed by a police team, led by SHO Police Station Samba, Daljit Singh, under the supervision of DySP Hqrs, Bhishm Dubey, and Additional SP Samba, Surinder Choudhary.

Highlighting the police’s ongoing efforts, Senior Superintendent of Police, Samba, Benam Tosh, mentioned the recent busting of four cattle theft gangs within a short timeframe.

He emphasized that cattle thieves and smugglers are constantly altering their methods and have now shifted to using luxurious cars to outwit the police and continue their unlawful activities.
