Revanth Reddy Urges Sonia Gandhi to Contest Lok Sabha Polls from Telangana

Telangana Chief Minister and state Congress president A Revanth Reddy has urged Congress Parliamentary Party chairperson Sonia Gandhi to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha polls from Telangana. During a meeting with Sonia Gandhi in Delhi, Reddy highlighted that the Telangana Congress unit had passed a resolution urging her to contest from the state. Reddy stated that people view her as the ‘mother’ who granted statehood to Telangana, and Sonia Gandhi responded that a decision would be made at an appropriate time.

Implementation of Poll Guarantees and Preparations for Elections

Revanth Reddy, accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, updated Sonia Gandhi on the implementation of poll promises, including free travel for women in state-run RTC buses and a health scheme providing Rs 10 lakh for the poor. He also informed her about upcoming measures, such as supplying LPG cylinders for Rs 500 and providing free electricity up to 200 units. The government has initiated preparations for a ‘caste census,’ and efforts are underway to secure as many seats as possible in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
