Rain Forecast in JK Until September 3: MeT
The parts of Jammu & Kashmir likely to receive rains and thundershower till September 3, officials of Meteorological Department said on Tuesday.
The officials said from August 27 to 30 there is a possibility of light to moderate rains and thundershower at many places of Jammu & Kashmir towards late night/early morning. Further a spell of rain and thundershower at many places towards afternoon is also expected, they said.
They said from August 31 to September 1 a brief spell of rain and thundershower at isolated places of Jammu & Kashmir is expected, while as during September 2 to 3 the weather will likely remain generally cloudy with possibility of spell of rain/thundershower at many places.
From September 4 to 5 the weather will remain generally dry, the officials said.
They added in past 24 hours Jammu received 64.2 mm rainfall, Kathua 65.2 mm, Udhampur 64.8 mm and Samba 53 mm.
The officials warned that there is a possibility of intense showers for a brief period at few places with heavy rain at isolated places of Jammu division during August 27 to 30 towards late night/early morning.
They continued that flashfloods, landslides, mudslides and shooting stones may occur over few vulnerable places.
